Even though USU scored in the second overtime, they failed a 2 point conversion in going for the win. Colorado State's Pete Thomas, who did not have a real spectacular game, rallied the Rams for an 85 yard drive in the final 2 minutes to tie the game in regulation. The bright spot for the Aggies was Robert Turpin who had 115 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns. The Aggies fumbled the ball 4 times, two of those fumbles were by Freshman Quarterback Chuckie Keeton.
