Conference Realignment Update...September 21

PAC-12

Will not expand at this time.  There were concerns about the revenue sharing model that bringing in Texas would cause.  There were also concerns from the AZ schools about limited access to the Los Angeles Market, one of their prime recruiting grounds.

SEC

Denying rumors that Missouri will join with Texas A&M.  Said to be pursuing an ACC school.

ACC

Unsure if they will go to 16.

Big 12

Rumor is the Arkansas and BYU are in talks to join.  Arkansas is probably a long shot.  BYU will want assurances of stability, particularly from OU and UTX.

Big East

Have assurances that the remainder of the football schools are committed to the conference, however, West Virginia, Rutger, Cincy and Louisville had their fingers crossed behind their backs.

MWC

Aggressively attempting to get TCU to stay.  If the Frogs agree a 12th school, either Utah State or Montana, will be invited.  (Probably Utah State as Montana may not come without Montana State, although that could have been a WAC stipulation to avoid joining the floundering conference and may not apply to the MWC.)

Conference USA

Bracing for loss of schools to the Big East.  Likely looking at Middle Tennessee, North Texas, UTSA and perhaps Louisiana Tech.

WAC

The WAC will be finished as a football conference if they lose 2 more members.  If TCU agrees to remain in the MWC and the MWC invites Utah State, it will likely mean the end of WAC football.  The WAC will probably lose at least one member to Conference USA should they need replacements.
