Review
Week 9 of the High School season featured four games where the winner dominated the looser. In fact, there was only one lead change all night. Blowouts are find if you are rooting for the winner, but not fun for the objective observer. So I had to pick a region 5 game as game of the week.
Davis 28 Fremont 6
Tanner Hinds run all over the Silver Wolf defense. The Brody Garr attack was held in check. Fremont should still be in the playoffs regardless of the outcomes of next week's games. Of course, they could get Lone Peak or Alta, but they have an extra week to get ready.
Northridge 49 Clearfield 28
Jordan Lee, who you will see a lot of next year, ran for 171 yards and 3 touchdowns for the Knights. The Clearfield defense again looked out of shape.
Viewmont 27 Roy 6
The Royals, for the first time this season, had a lead in the second quarter. THEN the Vikings woke up.
Weber 30 Layton 13
Another great Adam Bunting performance wasted by the Lancers. David Daines had three touchdowns.
Playoff Scenarios
Davis, Syracuse and Fremont are in.
If Davis wins next week against Roy or Syracuse looses to Layton, the Darts go into the playoffs as a #1 seed. Syracuse needs a Dart loss if they win to avoid the #2 seeding.
If Viewmont wins against Clearfield then Viewmont is the #3 seed from Region 1 and Fremont is the #4 seed. If Viewmont looses and Weber wins then Weber is the #3 seed and Fremont is the #4 seed. If both Viewmont and Weber loose then Fremont is the #3 seed and Viewmont is the #4 seed.
