What if the NFL playoffs were held today...November 8, 2011

Disclaimer...this is the way that the NFL playoffs would be if they were played today.  Not all of the this team plays that team scenarios have taken place yet.  We are only about half way through the season.

NFC Playoffs

Division Champions
East-New York
North-Green Bay
South-New Orleans
West-San Francisco

Wild Card--Detroit, Atlanta

Championship home field: Green Bay

Detroit at New Orleans winner to play at San Francisco
Atlanta at New York winner to play at Green Bay

Tie Breaker...Right now, Atlanta and New Orleans are tied in the loss column, but New Orleans has the better overall record.  This coming Sunday, New Orleans visits Atlanta.

AFC Playoffs

East--New England
North--Baltimore
South--Houston
West--San Diego

Wild Cards--Cincinnati and Pittsburgh

Championship Home Field--Baltimore

Pittsburgh at San Diego winner plays at Baltimore
Cincinnati at New England winner plays at Houston



Tie Breaker...New England currently holds the tie breaker in the AFC east over Buffalo and New York due to a better division record.  Baltimore owns the AFC north due to a better division record.  San Diego owns the AFC west because they beat Kansas City in their head to head meeting.
