Weber State's Playoff Chances.

There are eight automatic berths in the FCS playoffs and there are eight at-large bids. Three conferences do not get an automatic bid, but usually get an at-large bid.

Automatic Bids
Big Sky--Montana has already clinched it.
Colonial
MEAC--South Carolina State has already clinched it.
Missouri Valley
Ohio Valley
Patriot
Southern
Southland

By-Invitation Conferences
Great West--Cal Davis has already won the championship, but sports a 6-4 record going into a game vs Sacramento State
Northeast--Central Connecticut State has clinched at least a tie for first place
Pioneer--Three-way tie for first, between Drake, Buter and Dayton.  But two of the three, Butler and Drake, play Saturday

Likely at-large bids already clinched (5 or 6)
1 and 2.  Richmond, William & Mary or Villanova (It is possible that the CAA will get three bids because both Richmond and W&M have wins over FBS schools)
3.  Drake, Butler or Dayton
4.  Old Dominion
5.  Pioneer Conference Champion (Pioneer conference will likely get two bids.)
6.  Central Connecticut State

Teams that need to loose on Saturday to open the door for Weber State
1.  Montana State (vs Montana)
2.  Eastern Washington (@ Northern Arizona)
(Ensures that Weber State is all alone in 2nd in the Big Sky.  Even though Weber State beat EWU in Cheney, EWU only has three losses and is a stronger candidate than Weber State.  This will make it likely that Weber State will get the second Big Sky bid.)

Not all of the rest of these teams need to loose, but it will help if they do
1.  Cal Davis (@ Sacramento State)  (Great West Champion has 5 losses if this happens.)
2.  Florida A & M (2nd place in MEAC, they would have four losses)
3 and 4.  South Dakota State and Northern Iowa (Both in 2nd in M Valley conference and would have four losses)
5.  Jacksonville State (Currently 2nd place in Ohio Vally, would give them a fourth loss)
6.  Elon (Would only have 3 losses with a loss)
7.  Stephen F. Autsin (Would only have 3 losses with a loss)

Will follow-up on Saturday.
