High School Semi and Weber State-USU Review.

First, the basketball game.  It was good to see the Dee filled.  It was not so good to see that more than half the crowd were clad in blue and not purple.  The Cats put on a valiant effort to close the game at the end.  But when you live by the outside shot you die by it...when you do not have the size up front to match the other team.  Weber State can expect all that they can handle and more when they play a team with size up front.  My apologies for not getting good sources on the starting line up on both teams.  Franklin Sessions started instead of Darin Mahoney, and played very well.

State Semi's

Bingham 28 Alta 19

The Hawks were within a score until late in the third quarter.  It was then that the deeper, more conditioned team one the battle and pushed the lead beyond one score.  Stefan Cantwell carried the ball over the goal line with 3:18 remaining in the third quarter to make the score 22-7.  From that point on, the Hawks were officially playing catch up.

Davis 41 Hunter 17

The Wolverines never were able to provide an answer to Tanner Hinds.  He had another career night with 187 yards and two touchdowns.  Gavin Fowler looked like a chip off of the old block as well.  It was not a total domination as Ekuasi Tavo ran for 171 and a touchdown for Hunter.

Offensive Player of the Week: Davis RB Tanner Hinds
Defensive Team of the Week: Bingham
Game of the week: Bingham 28 Alta 19
