Re-evaluating Utah State...WAC power rankings

The Aggies are for real this year, and Aggie fans should enjoy this season.  Season like this have not been coming regularly in Logan in my lifetime.  Coach Gary Anderson, is a Utah native, and I personally don't see him, for example, going to California just to make an extra buck or two.  Well, it wold take a lot of money, and there are people that have that kind of money to spend, but more on that in another post.

The win against Utah and the near miss in Wisconsin prove that the Aggies are not a fluke.  They had a good season last year, graduated some key players and are looking good so far this year.  As long as they remain healthy, a 10-win season is within reach.  There are two very difficult games remaining on the schedule.  At BYU and at Louisiana Tech.  But both of these games are winnable.  BYU more so because of their offense seems more anemic than it did at the first of the season, but that will be a game worth watching.

Louisiana Tech has picked up some special talent this year.  Freshman Tevin King has already picked up 315 yards in just two games for the Bulldogs.  He's going to be even better by game 11 of the season.  This is the hardest remaining game on USU's schedule, more difficult than the BYU game.

There are some warning flags on the season.  UTSA is better than everybody thought they would be this year.  They are 3-0.  But the rest of the WAC will begin to take them seriously and so should Utah State.  San Jose State is also improved.  USU needs to take these games seriously or they will find out what it is like to be the victim of an upset.

WAC Power Rankings.

1.  Utah State
2.  Louisiana Tech
3.  San Jose State
4.  UTSA
5.  New Mexico State
6.  Idaho
7.  Texas State

Ranking USU's remaining opponents from weakest to strongest.

Texas State
UNLV
Idaho
New Mexico State
Colorado State
UTSA
San Jose State

Of the 9 games remaining, USU should at least win 7.  50-50 chance that the Aggies will win out.
