Eastern Washington and Sacramento State are ready!

I wasn't half kidding when I said that the Big Sky Conference should split and half the conference should move to the FBS and take the place of the WAC.  It is a good solution.  The performance of Eastern Washington and Sacramento State to open the season are proof.  Eastern Washington beat Idaho and played a close game against Washington State to open the season.  And for the second consecutive season, Sacramento State has defeated a PAC-12 school.

You may laugh at the level of competition.  I mean, Washington State is not exactly smelling roses right now and neither are California and Colorado.  But these BSC programs are performing as well as any bottom-tiered WAC or Mountain West school has in the last decade.

The top tier of the Big Sky would not beat a PAC-12 team every week.  The Big Sky is not what the Mountain West was when they were led by BYU, TCU and Utah.  But there is a hold in the college football world left by the terminal Western Athletic Conference.  The top half of the Big Sky Conference looks ready to fill the void.
