This is according to tweets and a lot of speculation, therefore, please take this for what it is worth and no comments about...Where do you get this stuff...my source is twitter.
Air Force will join the Big East as a football only member and be in the same conference as their sister service academies Army and Navy. This will open up football scheduling for Air Force and allow them to play up to four non conference games all over the country, where now they only have the flexibility to schedule 2.
That is not a surprise. Here is what is...
They spurned a chance to join the Big 12. This is one reason why BYU did not get an invite last week. If this is true, it is really good news for Boise State fans...and good news for BYU fans.
And this conference affiliation is for football only. Their other sports programs will either remain in the MWC or they will re-join the WAC...likely the latter. If this is true, it furthers the WAC closer to a future like the Big West, of being a non-football conference. Good news for Utah Valley fans.
If the MWC has to replace Boise and Air Force, that is good news for Utah State fans.
Remember that this is speculation that I am passing along. You will not find this yet from a source like ESPN and it may not happen at all. So please take it for what it is worth.

Let me be non-cryptic....My apologies to those who did not read through my vaugue statements. I should not have been so vague.
Service academies keep Big East football conference together, leaving no reason for Louisville and other to jump to the Big 12...leaving an openings for BYU and Boise State.
The MWC, having to replace 2 schools takes Utah State and another WAC school.
The WAC becomes a non-football conference takes on Air Force and Utah Valley and CS Bakersfield and a couple of others to maintain the NCAA auto-bid.

You are very incorrect to say that an invite to the Big Least is a dream come true for Boise State fans. Most of cannot stomach the idea the idea of playing in that pathetic POS conference. I hope Boise tells the Big Least to go pound sand. The BE is dead as an AQ football conference. Missouri will be going to the SEC and the Big 12 will be taking WVU and Louisville. If Boise State stays with the MWC it will get the Big Least's AQ position. Even if AIR Force does leave. Which I think would be a bad idea, btw.
This isn't a rumor. Karl Benson has gone on record saying he's had talks with Air Force and would welcome BSu back as well (for non-football).
I agree the BE is dead for AQ. After the current cycle runs out the BCS won't be renewed. The BigTen and SEC, and the Bowl games aren't going to want to share money with small teams (Rose doesn't want TCU, for example) and be forced to invite teams that don't bring any money or TV's to the table (Fiesta doesn't want UCONN - or any BE team really).
