Sad day for BYU fans

I have just seen ESPN on TV report that Boise State, Air Force and Navy will be football-only Big East members.  BYU turned down the Big East weeks ago and could not work out differences with the Big 12.

The Mountain West Conference and Conference USA are merging.

This means that independence has cost BYU access to the BCS bowls and not helped them at all...if BYU can not find a way to get BCS access what will become of the football program?

I am also seeing tweets...unconfirmed, of course, that Tanner Mangum has switched from BYU to Boise State.

Any thoughts?

Has College Football Armageddon arrived? Is BYU football, the only mid-major to win a national championship in the last 40 years, forever shut out of college football?

I will share the best ideas.

ye3ah I lived in Boise and was good friends with Tanner. His older brothers are all at BYU and I think he has some family pressure to go there. I never heard him say he didn't want to go to BYU, but maybe the movement in college ball this season has him not wanting to go to a struggling program in BYU, and instead a powerhouse team that happens to be his home community. Plus, big east rumors may have him second guessing.
