The Jazz this year.

I have to say that I am only a little excited about the Jazz season this year. I am not as thrilled about the NBA right now as I was in the past. My dad thinks that the NBA is fixed, and I just about agree with him. I think that the league is set up so that the big market teams succeed and the small market teams can do well, but constantly fall short. At least we have Oklahoma City now in the fight (or misery) with us here in Utah, and with Portland and Sacramento as small market cities with teams that will do well, but never win it all.

BTW--Forbes now lists the New Orleans Hornets as one of the ten sports franchises that could move. Say hello to the Seattle Hornets. Or the Las Vegas Hornets. Either one will take some getting used to.

BYU and Utah did not move up in the polls this week. Both did not exactly blow away opponents the way that people expected them to. The MWC is tougher than a lot of people think. Both the Utes and the Cougars played against their 2nd biggest conference rivals and against Mother Nature. If you think the MWC is weak, just ask 7 members of the PAC-10, who have all lost the last game they played against a MWC opponent. All of the teams in the MWC that you would expect to win did, but none of them blew away the competition.

If you are a fan of Big Sky conference football. Mark the 25th of October on your calendar. That is when Weber State and Northern Arizona hook up in the Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff in what now looks to be the Big Sky game of the year.
